Maintenance Technician

Main Roles and Responsibilities of Position:

  • Response to technical service needs of the complete plant which includes machinery, equipment and building.

  • Schedule and complete the "Preventative Maintenance Program" including inspection and maintenance of building and HVAC roof motors and fans.

  • Able to work alone or in a team on acute repair tasks or preventative maintenance jobs. Responsible for emergency maintenance service as scheduled.

  • Able to work alone or in a team to identify and realize improvements of plant equipment.

  • Coordinate and complete special projects as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.

  • Assist in monitoring all work being performed by outside contractors.

  • Knowledge of the operational characteristics of mechanical equipment and tools used in work area assigned.


Important Individual Tasks:

  • Work hours are currently day shift, but acceptance to work shift is required.

  • Responsible for alerting the Maintenance Supervisor of any unusual occurrence and/or damage that have taken place or that may occur.

  • Maintain a professional courteous manner with all, vendors, contractors, and fellow employees.

  • Assure safety standards are used which comply with all company, local, Provincial and Federal guidelines.


Education and/or Experience Required:

  • Grade 12 diploma

  • Experienced in welding practices and techniques, but licencing is not requested.

  • Technical knowledge of mechanical and numatic devices and their functions.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Analytic capabilities to identify and proper analyze problems, derive and implement solutions.

  • Ability and willingness to take over responsibility, work independently in the absence of supervision.
