GENERAL RESPONSIBILITY 

Responsible for Mechanical and Electrical equipment within the facility. 

Ensure that all equipment used is in safe working order at all times.


SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain a safe working environment and good housekeeping.

  • Must be proficient in applied math and mechanical knowledge.

  • Prevent premature breakdown of the equipment used in production and to operate the facility through continual preventative maintenance.

  • Troubleshooting failures & malfunctioning equipment.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, manuals and detailed drawings related to specific machinery or equipment to determine work procedures.

  • Thorough knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and electrical principles.

  • Repair, replace equipment, such as motors, pumps, gear boxes, valves, controls, belt conveyors, drive chains and follow up testing on repairs.

  • Welding, cutting, fabricating and using power tools.

  • Piping installation.

  • Work as a Team Member in all situations.


EDUCATION REQUIRED 

  • Licensed Millwright 

  • Grade 12 Diploma

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED 

  • 5 years in a manufacturing environment.

  • Familiar with safety devices and legislated codes. 

  • Exercises independent judgment / decision making. 

  • Able to read Blueprints. 

  • Good analytical skills for failure detection and problem solutions.
