GENERAL RESPONSIBILITY
Responsible for Mechanical and Electrical equipment within the facility.
Ensure that all equipment used is in safe working order at all times.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain a safe working environment and good housekeeping.
Must be proficient in applied math and mechanical knowledge.
Prevent premature breakdown of the equipment used in production and to operate the facility through continual preventative maintenance.
Troubleshooting failures & malfunctioning equipment.
Read and interpret blueprints, manuals and detailed drawings related to specific machinery or equipment to determine work procedures.
Thorough knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and electrical principles.
Repair, replace equipment, such as motors, pumps, gear boxes, valves, controls, belt conveyors, drive chains and follow up testing on repairs.
Welding, cutting, fabricating and using power tools.
Piping installation.
Work as a Team Member in all situations.
EDUCATION REQUIRED
Licensed Millwright
Grade 12 Diploma
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
5 years in a manufacturing environment.
Familiar with safety devices and legislated codes.
Exercises independent judgment / decision making.
Able to read Blueprints.
Good analytical skills for failure detection and problem solutions.
